In modern times, the settlement grew rapidly due to the proximity of the capital, and today it is the home of nearly 70,000 people. Because of this, however, few natural habitats remained in the settlement. Today, natural values can only be found scattered in Érd, especially in the suburban areas, which are local and national protected areas, as well as Natura 2000 areas (protected at European level). These are presented in the dioramas of the exhibition entitled Natural treasures throughout Érd in the following units: Life around the house, Forests around Érd, The flora of Érd, The Beliczay Island and the Érd High Coast, The wildlife of Fundoklia Valley then and now, The wildlife of the Sarmatian Sea. .
